To create a new query:
1. Choose a
Discipline
from the drop down or check
All Disciplines
.
2. Fill in one or more of the
Search Fields
and/or expand the
Advanced Filters
section for
more advanced searching options.
3. Click
Run Query
to see results populate at the bottom of the Palette.
4. Click a symbol to insert it into the drawing.
5. The
Clear
button will clear all of the search fields to allow for a new query.
Query's can be run once or saved for future use. To make a query reusable:
1. After testing a query click
Save.
2. Choose to save to the local library, standard library, or browse for a location.
3. Queries that exist in the local or standard database will be available in the
Query
drop
down at the top of the Palette. Queries that have been saved to another location can be
loaded using the
Load
button.
4. The
Delete
button will delete the current query from the local or standard database.
Symbol Procedure
Symbol Procedures are an organized structure for using multiple Symbol Queries in a specific
order. For example if a typical workflow is to insert a desk followed by one or more chairs a
procedure can help expedite this process.
