Layer Conversion Tools
The layer conversion section shown above can help to identify the layers that need to be
converted. If the layers to be converted are known, then simply highlight the rows in the layer list
section, and then click the
Assign Layer
button to choose a layer from the standard database.
Isolating Layers can be useful in determining what entities reside on the selected layers.
Highlight the desired layers in the layer list section, and then click the
Walk/Isolate Layers
button. The current AutoCAD drawing will isolate the selected layer to make it easier to view the
entities, and filter out unwanted entities of the drawing. Walk layers will isolate each selection
layer from the layer list section to give the user even more control in determining the purpose of
the layer.
The
Set Entity Properties to 'ByLayer'
box will return object properties to by layer, getting rid
of overrides. The
Set Entity Linetype Scale = 1
box will return the linetype scale object
property to 1, getting rid of an override. The
Update Existing Layer Properties
box will return
layers from the standards database to the standard layer properties (i.e. color, plot style, etc).
If
Redefine All Block Layers
is toggled on the layer of every object will be changed. If
Redefine Block Attribute Layers Only
is toggled on then block attributes will be the only
objects updated to reflect the new layers.
Single Drawing Layer Conversion
If the user is only trying to convert a single drawing, CMI Standards Manager allows an entity
filter. The entity filter can only be used to filter the current drawing, therefore cannot be used
through XREF’s and/or drawing folders. See the figure below for further explanation.
